Celebrating 30 Years of Learning Beyond the Classroom

The Wilder Institute/Calgary Zoo and Chevron Canada are celebrating 30 years of partnership through the Chevron Open Minds Zoo School program. Over the years, Zoo School has become a place where students from Grade 1 through Grade 12 are encouraged to engage with their teachers and educators, connect with nature, and get inspired while also building lifelong memories.

Since the facility began operations in 1997, it has prioritized the most important thing—safety. Operating for over 9,000 days, equivalent to 1.24 million work hours, this facility has transferred over 3.4 billion barrels of crude oil, all without a single lost time injury.

Joining over 600 cyclists, the Chevron One Team biked 180 kilometres in pursuit of a cure for MS. Thanks to friends, family and colleagues, the money raised will go towards research—changing the lives of over 100,000 Canadians.
